Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Lucknow previously known as Industrial Toxicology Research Centre Lucknow was instituted in 1965. This is a CSIR laboratory. The institute helps regulatory bodies to formulate/amend guidelines for safe use of chemicals/products, and ensures that the common man is benefited. The motto of the laboratory is "Safety to Environment & Health and Service to Industry".

Research Area
IITR undertakes research in niche areas of toxicology. These include the impact of industrial and environmental chemicals on human health and ecosystem, and environmental monitoring of pollutants in air, water and soil.

Location
Indian Institute of Toxicology Research i.e. IITR or ITRC main campus is located near Hazratganj, Lucknow. Another campus, Gheru campus is situated on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway.
